Mistletone is proud to present the return of Toro y Moi and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart for Laneway Festival 2012.
Hailing from South Carolina, TORO Y MOI’s Chaz Bundick — multi-talented 24 year old musician, designer and photographer — recently released his brilliant new 12″ EP Freaking Out (out now on Mistletone Records / Inertia and available on mail order). Toro y Moi’s recent live shows, meanwhile, have been described as akin to ‘a flashy, sex-fueled 80s rooftop fiesta’, which is to say they require your attendance.
It’s not hard to get your head around the appeal of THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART. Belong is their second album and it’s classic indie pop: jangly guitars, sun-soaked melodies, themes of heartbreak, redemption and so on. It’s like they sat down and wrote an album specifically for the Australian summer!
